Our Roots
nxtime is a pop trio based in New York City, founded in 2019 by singer‑songwriter/producer Ray Rubio, guitarist Nate Christensen, and drummer-vocalist Imhotep Williams .
In 2025, singer-songwriter Chloe René officially joined the band, forming the current core lineup alongside Rubio and Williams.
The group independently released over 30 singles—including “Take a drive” (2023) and “Late Twenties” (2025)—and has amassed over 10 million streams on Spotify alone, all achieved through self-release efforts without label support.
nxtime’s music blends nostalgic 80s synth-pop textures with modern R&B grooves and emotive songwriting. Their studio collaboration with producer Mike Rogers (Groove Is in the Heart – Deee‑Lite) has helped further refine their sound in recent releases.
As of 2025 nxtime is recording their Debut album.
